Thoughts
So many happy memories of spending time with you, Jean, and all the family Dave. But the most precious one will always be when our 2 families were holidaying on a barge together and our Daughter, Vicky, fell in the canal just as we were mooring. The barge was about to go over the top of her but your quick action catching hold of her hand and dragging her to safety, literally saved her life. We will always be so grateful to you. You were a wonderful friend and we will miss you forever xxxxx

One of my best childhood memories is of a gorgeous, hot summer's day around 1965. You, me, Barry, Dad & Great Uncle George take the horse drawn milk float and 'van' up to Allerton cemetery to rake up and collect the newly cut grass. A free tidy-up for the grounds keeper & free food for the horses. We were supposed to be helping Dad but I think we played more than helped! Hours later, tired and a bit grass stained, Dad & I are precariously perched on top of the mound of grass in the milk float (using our weight to anchor the grass down) while you & Barry are sat surrounded by grass in the roofed van with Uncle George. They drive us all back to the dairy going a fine clip down Woolton Road. Forever after, the smell of freshly cut grass in the sun would bring this memory back to us. A lovely day together. xx

Liverpool Empire, Liverpool Stadium, countless games of football in Clark Gardens, the choir, Stafford Bingley Hall, Belle Vue Manchester, Isle of Man, Garston Parish Church choir, golf at Allerton all memories that are still vivid. You were a great friend and you honoured me by saying I was your oldest friend. I just wanted to share one amusing memory. Sitting in the choir stalls one Sunday after you had been out the night before you promised that when beer went above £1 a pint you were going to give up drinking. Not sure how that went :-)
